Sports & Physical Mental Health

My body is the space that is still mine.

Why it matters

Banning women from sports negates their bodily existence. Sports become a practice to reclaim one’s body and personal space.

What we do
  • Create safe sports spaces for Afghan women in Tehran and Islamabad
  • Conduct sports therapy workshops: empowerment yoga, mind-body exercises
  • Teach sexual health: menstruation, fertility, menopause, access to hygiene products
  • Campaign “My Body, My Right” for puberty health awareness and violence prevention
  • Support threatened female athletes
Testimony

In Afghanistan, the last time I played football was 14 years ago. Yesterday, in a safe space in islamabd, I touched the ball again. I cried — not from sadness, but from the fact that I am still alive.

Z.H., former athlete, Pakistan.
